The Short Version

Your personal details never leave your phone. The only thing ShipsTime sends anywhere is your ship's name, used to look up your voyage schedule, ports, and position — and that lookup keeps nothing about you.

Stored On Your Device Only

These details are saved only on your phone, to personalise the app. They are never transmitted to us or anyone else:

• Name
• Department
• Nationality
• Sign-off (contract end) date
• Profile photo

You can erase all of it at any time by uninstalling the app.

Your Ship Name

Your ship name is saved on your device and is also sent to our lookup service to retrieve your voyage schedule, ports, and ship position. A ship name identifies a vessel, not you — none of the personal details above are attached to the request.

How The Lookup Works

ShipsTime runs a small backend service (hosted on Google Cloud) that receives your ship name, looks it up against public maritime data sources, and returns the result to the app. The service uses your ship name only to answer that request and does not retain it. The voyage and position data itself comes from public third-party maritime sources, which ShipsTime does not own or control.

Other Live Data

To show live information, ShipsTime also fetches:

• Weather for your ship's position or next port, from open-meteo.com. This uses an approximate location for the ship — not your device location. No personal data is sent.
• Exchange rates from open.er-api.com. No personal data is sent.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your personal data with anyone.
• We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not require an account or a login.

Data Deletion

Your details live on your device, so uninstalling ShipsTime deletes all of them. Because the lookup service keeps nothing about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children

ShipsTime is made for cruise ship crew — working adults. It is not directed at children.

Independence

ShipsTime is not affiliated with any cruise line or shipping company.

Changes to This Policy
